The Best Web Design Sites
 |
There are plenty of “best web design” sites on the internet, that showcase what’s new and cool. One of the best things about being a designer is the fact that I can always push boundaries. As long as the basic rules are followed, the world is my oyster. I can push my imagination and my design skills to the limit with my medium, and sometimes even get recognised for it. These sites are a great source of inspiration, and aspiration, and I think it only fair I show you some of the good ones.
Moluv (www.moluv.com) is not only a great design itself, it also showcases what it thinks are the best designed websites around. Frequently updated with submitted sites, or ones the owner has found in his travels. All the featured sites are of an extremely high quality. There is a charge for submitting a site, which means those that are featured are REALLY good.
WebDesignerWall (www.webdesignerwall.com) is next up. It is much more than a web design site though. It also follows trends, has tutorials and general gossip about technology and news. The Trends category is the most useful, as it covers awesome designs in general, but also issues surrounding design like fonts, Photoshop, navigation, Flash and so on.
Web Creme (www.webcreme.com) is a plain site that concentrates all its attention, and yours on the best designed sites on the web. Updated regularly, it is a good place to visit when looking for inspiration. There are literally hundreds of examples of good design on here.
The Best Designs.com (www.thebestdesigns.com) speaks for itself really. It’s another web design site that features the best of the web. There are pages and pages of what are definitely excellent designs, but whether they are the best of not is subjective. This site seems to lean a little more to the advertising it carries than the web designs. A good resource nonetheless.
Last but certainly not least is the Best Web Gallery (www.bestwebgallery.com). Another “best web design” site that features an array of up to the minute websites and designs. Be careful though, because the hover peek gets a little confused if you move your mouse too quickly.
These are just some of the sites that promote the best in web design. They are a great place to visit if you have a spare five minutes, or need inspiration. The mind is a curious thing, and it amazes me that looking at other people’s designs sparks completely unrelated ideas that can turn into excellent results. |
